For three semesters, my job at school was to make jewelry in the craft department. The school is famous for its crafts, so I was fortunate to get invaluable experience working with mentors, supervisors, fellow students and artists, and customers. I design my pieces which are all to some degree one-of-a-kind. I do not cast. I either bend wire with pliers and my fingers or I cut sheet metal with a hand-held needle saw. I also solder. I finish my copper and brass pieces with a layer of lacquer in order to keep the patina from changing over time.
